Dental Crowns & Onlays
If you’re suffering from a damaged, decayed, or weakened tooth that’s too severe for a filling to correct, a dental crown or onlay could be the best solution to revitalize both the tooth’s health and structure. Crowns are designed to fit over the tooth like a “cap” and provide more support and function overall, but their placement requires a significant amount of enamel removal, as well as more cost to the patient. Dr. Moore typically recommends dental crowns in cases of bite issues, root canal treatment, or significantly cracked or stressed teeth. An onlay is less extensive than a crown, but it provides valuable support and preserves more of the natural structure in a non-invasive manner. We typically recommend onlays for cosmetic cases and structural improvements.
